Ingredients

  • 1 can (14 oz) jellied cranberry sauce
  • 1 bottle (12 oz) chili sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen pre-cooked meatballs (beef, pork, or turkey)
  • fresh parsley or rosemary for garnish (optional)

Equipment

  • large saucepan
  • wooden spoon
  • measuring cups and spoons
  • serving bowl or slow cooker
  • lid or cover for simmering

Method

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the cranberry sauce, chili sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, and black pepper. Place over medium heat and stir until smooth and heated through — about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the frozen meatballs directly to the pan, stirring gently to coat them evenly in the sauce.
  3. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally. The sauce will thicken and become glossy, clinging to the meatballs perfectly.
  4. Transfer the meatballs to a serving bowl or a slow cooker set to “Warm.” Garnish with fresh parsley or rosemary for a festive finishing touch.

Notes

Use store-bought or homemade meatballs. To add brightness, stir in a little orange zest; for a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes or hot sauce. Keep warm in a slow cooker during parties for easy serving.
