Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (6–8 oz each)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp fresh orange juice
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • lemon wedges, for serving

Equipment

  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper or foil
  • small mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • pastry brush
  • oven

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, honey, orange juice, orange zest, garlic, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Brush generously with the citrus-herb glaze.
  4. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until salmon flakes easily with a fork. For a caramelized top, broil for the last 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven and serve immediately with lemon wedges and your favorite sides.

Notes

Use fresh salmon for best results and avoid overcooking. You can marinate the fish up to 24 hours in advance. For extra festive flair, garnish with dill, parsley, or thin citrus slices before serving.
