Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 Tbsp orange juice
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp chopped fresh rosemary (optional)
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 Tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • crackers, crostini, or sliced baguette, for serving
  • optional apple slices or pretzel crisps

Equipment

  • small saucepan
  • mixing bowl
  • hand mixer or whisk
  • 8-inch baking dish
  • spatula
  • serving platter

Method

  1. In a small saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, orange juice, and zest. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until cranberries burst and sauce thickens — about 8–10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and rosemary. Let cool slightly.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese with honey and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy. Season with a pinch of salt.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread the cream cheese mixture into a small oven-safe dish, then spoon the cranberry sauce evenly over the top.
  4. Bake uncovered for 15–20 minutes, until warm and bubbly around the edges.
  5. Remove from oven and cool 5 minutes. Serve warm with crackers, baguette slices, or apple wedges.

Notes

Use fresh cranberries for the brightest flavor and texture. You can make the cranberry sauce ahead and assemble the dip just before baking. Add a pinch of cinnamon or chopped pecans for a cozy touch. Serve warm for the best creamy consistency.
