Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup rolled oats
  • 0.5 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 0.33 cup milk of choice
  • 0.5 tbsp fresh orange juice
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract

Equipment

  • Small blender or food processor
  • 6-ounce ramekin or small oven-safe dish

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Grease a 6-oz ramekin.
  2. In a blender, pulse oats, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt into a flour.
  3. Transfer oat flour to ramekin. Add milk, orange juice, zest, and vanilla. Stir until smooth.
  4. Bake for 5 minutes for a gooey center, or 7-8 mins for firmer oats.
  5. Let cool for 1-2 minutes. Add optional chocolate on top to melt. Enjoy warm.

Notes

Key Tips: For a gooey center, use a tall ramekin and bake for 5 minutes. For firmer oats, use a wide dish and bake 7-8 mins. Use any milk for a dairy-free version. No blender? Use whole oats for a more textured result.
